Bristol cultural strategy engagement
The surveys form part of our engagement to develop Bristol’s new Cultural Strategy, to be published in 2027. The strategy will set a long‑term vision for culture in Bristol, shaped by the people who live, work and create in the city.
Your responses will help us to:
- understand what matters most to communities and the cultural sector
- identify key opportunities and challenges across the city
- shape shared priorities based on lived experience
- ensure underrepresented voices are heard

These engagement surveys are open from 21 April 2026 until midnight on Friday 3 July 2026.
Public survey
This survey is to respond from your personal perspective as a resident of Bristol and an audience member.
Cultural sector survey
This survey is for anyone working in Bristol’s cultural sector to respond from the perspective of your organisation or professional practice.
This includes:
- Freelancers
- Consultants
- Cultural organisations
- Community groups
- Venues
- Creative practitioners

Cultural impact survey
If you are a cultural or creative organisation in Bristol we would be very grateful if you would also complete the annual Cultural Impact Survey.
This helps us build an up to date picture of the economic and social value and impact of culture for Bristol.
All organisations completing the survey will also receive their own individual economic and social impact report which can provide useful insight and evidence base for partners and funders.

What happens next
Survey findings will be analysed alongside other engagement activity and research. The insights gathered will directly inform the priorities and actions within the Cultural Strategy, guiding future decision‑making and investment in Bristol’s culture.
