Bristol Harbour has three types of berth:
- Visitor (short term)
- Leisure
- Live-Aboard berths

Short Term Visitor Berths
Arnolfini
This is a dedicated visitor pontoon on the east side of St Augustines Reach (see map).
The pontoon has:
- electricity and water points
- a security gate with code access.
- toilet and shower facilities nearby at Mud Dock
Harbour Inlet
The Harbour Inlet is opposite the SS Great Britain (see map).
It has:
- visitor finger pontoons for vessels up to 15 metres, with a maximum draught of 1.5 metres
- two accessible pontoon moorings
- electricity and water points
- toilet and shower facilities
- accessible toilet and shower facilities
- washing machine and tumble dryer (in the same building as the toilet and shower)
Baltic Wharf
Baltic Wharf is a low level concrete quayside between The Cottage Inn and Bristol Marina.
There are no water or electricity points.
There are toilet and shower facilities nearby at Underfall Yard (see map).

Cost of visitor berths
- 24 hours - £3.30 per metre
- 48 hours - £5.70 per metre
- 7 days - £11.05 per metre
Leisure and Live-Aboard berths
There are several Leisure and Live-Aboard berths around the harbour.
- Hanover Pontoon
- Hanover Quay
- Cannons Marsh
- Wapping Wharf
- St Augustines Reach
- Mud Dock and The Grove
- Merchants Quay
- Recliffe and Phoenix Wharf
- Welsh Back
- Temple Back
- Temple Quay
We may need to move craft for operational reasons, or for major events such as regattas, festivals and visiting ships.
Apply for a Leisure or Live-Aboard Licence
Leisure or Live-Aboard licences run from 1 May until the end of April each year.
Licence renewals are sent out automatically each year.
To apply for a Leisure or Live-Aboard Licence, complete our document application for mooring form.(625 KB)
You must include:
- a current Boat Safety Certificate
- copies of two recent utility bills (Leisure Licence only)
- a recent photograph of your boat (taken within the last month)
- a current insurance certificate for your vessel, including £3 million third party liability
Send your form and all the relevant documents to harbour.office@bristol.gov.uk
Your application will be held on file until an appropriate mooring becomes available.
Winter mooring
You can apply online for Winter mooring in Bristol Harbour.
To complete this form you'll need:
- a photo of your vessel to upload (this must have been taken within the last calendar month)
- details of your boat including the length, beam, draught, air draft
- a copy of your insurance policy
- a copy of your boat safety certificate
Club berths
Club moorings are reserved for club members only.
They're with:
- Port of Bristol Association Sailing Club (PBASC): pontoon berths in Old Junction Cut
- Cabot Cruising Club (CCC): gated pontoon berths and quayside berths in Bathurst Basin
- Bristol Cruising Club (BCC): gated pontoon berths on Redcliffe Backs
Under 16s
An adult must accompany anyone under 16 if they're on board a vessel, or on a pontoon.

Licences for part of a year and refunds
If you give up your licence before the end of the licencing year, you can claim a refund. Refunds are only allowed until 31 January.
