Congratulations to North Star 82° on achieving the Essential Award!
North Star 82° submission was very strong. They have demonstrated good practice across a range of areas, but particularly in relation to the mental health and wellbeing support for all children and staff.
The school has mechanisms in place that enable pupils and staff to express their views and influence decisions on health and wellbeing in school. The school also ensures their staff understand and have awareness of mental health issues so they can facilitate early intervention strategies for any mental health problems identified for pupils or staff.
North Star 82° is committed to raising their pupils pride and sense of belonging in school and to taking action on bullying behaviours. They have developed an anti-bullying team that includes staff and student ambassadors who have received training from external agencies and have anonymous ways for children and parents/carers to report bullying.
