How we measure our performance against key priorities.
Performance progress
Performance data is available via a performance dashboard, with a user guide within the guidance section:
Formal performance reports are produced every 3 months and reported publicly to each of the 8 Policy Committees.
The latest published overall report is Q4 2024 to 2025 Performance report as reported to Strategy and Resources Committee in June 2025. The next report will be Q2 in January 2026, as there was no Q1 due to the development of the new Business Plan and Performance Framework.
Corporate Strategy and Business Plans
The Bristol City Council Corporate Strategy 2025 to 2030 sets out our contribution to the city and our key priorities over five years.
In addition, we publish a Business Plan to outline the specific actions we'll take, and how we will measure our progress.
These documents are on the Corporate Strategy page.
Performance Framework
The pdf 2025 to 2028 Performance Framework(699 KB) outlines our Corporate Performance approach. pdf Appendix 1(973 KB) lists all measures that report to the Bristol City Council Performance Board and Policy Committees, including those in the Business Plan.
The pdf Performance Measures and Targets 2025 to 2026(1.40 MB) document lists the targets for the performance metrics at the Performance Board and Policy Committees, plus the year-end results for 2024 to 2025.
Performance reports at Policy Committees
The Corporate Business Plan is scrutinised at the Strategy and Resources Committee and other Policy Committees for relevant themes.
Meetings and full performance reports are on committee meetings and reports online. These are presented at the first available meeting following the end of each quarter.
