How we can help with household goods, who is eligible and how to apply
If you can't afford basic furniture or household goods, you can apply to us for help. We'll deliver new or used goods to your home and install them.
You won't have to pay anything back.
You can apply if you:
- live within the Bristol City Council area
- have limited or no income and can't afford basic furniture or white goods, such as a fridge or a cooker
- have no other means of support through family, friends or donations
You can apply for one household goods award every two years. We may consider a second award in exceptional circumstances, such as a house fire. If you make repeat applications, we'll refer you to other services such as money or debt advice.
Whether we make a household goods award depends on the information you give us in your application, so make sure you answer all questions and give as much detail as possible.
We don't:
- make cash payments
- cover moving costs, travel expenses or rent
- provide any items not listed in our application form
- provide flooring, such as carpets
This is not a full list and our support can change because of changes in demand and our budget.
