What to do when it snows and volunteer to be a snow warden.

Preparing for snow and ice

Volunteer to be a snow warden

When it snows we might need local people to help clear snow from footpaths, spread grit and check on vulnerable neighbours.

How to volunteer

Email emergency.planning@bristol.gov.uk. We'll need your contact details and details of where you can be a snow warden.

How it works

We'll invite you to a briefing session to explain the role in more detail. You need to be sure that you're fit enough to do the role.

We'll give you a Hi-Viz tabard, gloves, shoe grippers and a snow shovel.

You can then decide if you're fit and well and able to clear snow. It is up to you how much you can do in your street or neighbourhood.
