What it is and how to report it.
Radicalisation is the process through which an individual or group develops extreme political, social or religious beliefs.
Extremism is the promotion or advancement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, that aims to:
- negate or destroy the fundamental rights and freedoms of others
- undermine, overturn or replace the UK's system of liberal parliamentary democracy and democratic rights or
- intentionally create a permissive environment for others to achieve the results in 1 or 2.
What to do if you have a concern
If it's urgent: call 999 or the anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321 to report an immediate threat to life or property.
Visit ACT Early if you're worried about a friend or loved one and feel they may going down the wrong path.
If you're concerned about an individual, or suspicious activity, you can report this:

- by completing the document National Prevent referral form (60 KB) and it email to PreventSW@avonandsomerset.police.uk
