What help you can get to improve the energy efficiency of your home.
Energy loans for owner occupiers and private landlords
To get this type of energy loan you must:
- have enough equity in your property to cover the agreed loan
- agree to pay back the outstanding balance if you move home
The maximum loan available is £20,000. There's a fixed interest rate of 4%.
Works under £7,500 require one estimate. Works above £7,500 will require two estimates.
Works to improve the energy efficiency of your home would normally compliment offers made by the Energy Service such as:
- loft and cavity wall insulation
- boiler replacements
- underfloor insulation
- first time central heating

Energy bills have risen dramatically so WECA (West of England Combined Authorities) have produced a leaflet Keep Warm This Winter, which will be delivered to Bristol residents in December.
