About the changes in the way Ofsted will inspect and report on schools.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect services providing education and skills for learners of all ages and inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people.

From September 2019 Ofsted is changing the way they inspect and report on schools, using the education inspection framework (EIF).

The new framework sets out how they'll inspect:

  • state schools
  • further education and skills providers
  • non-association independent schools
  • registered early years settings

You can find out more about these changes on the Ofsted website Go to https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ofsted-is-changing-how-it-inspects-schools (opens new window).
