How to apply for shore storage and other facilities available in Bristol Harbour.

Facilities at Baltic Wharf are currently undergoing renovation.

Shore storage

Shore storage in Bristol Harbour is suitable for canoes on racks, rowing boats and dinghies of up to five metres in length with launching trolley. 

Two areas of storage are available: hard standing and racks.

You can't store road trailers and outboard motors.

Before you complete this form, it's important to know that:

  • A condition of you being offered a storage berth is that your vessel has third-party liability insurance with a minimum sum of £3 million
  • If you have a canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard, we'll accept membership of the British Canoe Union as proof of third-party liability insurance
  • Storage fees include navigation charges

  • an image of your vessel
  • the vessel's construction
  • the vessel's length

Toilets and showers

There are toilet and shower blocks in Bristol Harbour at:

  • Baltic Wharf Water Leisure Centre: free shower facilities for licence holders
  • Wapping Wharf: shower (code access) and disabled toilets
  • Mud Dock: Unisex toilet and shower (code access)
  • Bathurst Basin: toilets and showers (code access) with disabled
  • Bristol  Marina: toilets
  • Elson facilities are also available
  • Pavilion Shower block

The toilets are locked and you can get a key from the Harbour Office.

Slip way information

  • maximum vessel length: 6 metres
  • water depth at the outer end: 1.2 metres

Centre and slipway opening hours

April to September, Monday to Sunday: 7.30am to 10pm

October to March, Monday to Sunday: 8am to 7.30pm

There's no charge for annual licensed vessels using the slipway.

You cant use the slipway during some special events so check with us to see if the slipway is open.

In case of emergency the slipway may be locked without warning. If this happens call us on 117 903 1484.

Repair facilities

There are repair facilities at:

Electricity

A number of metered electricity points are available pdf around the docks (454 KB) .

You can buy £1, £5 and £10 electricity cards at the Harbour Office or from Harbour patrols. 

All connecting leads must comply with the conditions and instructions for connection to pdf shore supply (106 KB) .

You can buy the cable from the Harbour Office up to a maximum length of 25m.

If you're a long-term berth holder you can get a dedicated outlet by paying an additional annual charge.

Fresh water

Water for small vessels

Free fresh water taps are on the face of the quay wall in several places.

Youll need a hose with a 5/8-inch union.

Report any leaks to the Harbour Office.

Important:

  • hold the end of the hose while the tank is being filled
  • dont connect to a plumbing installation on board
  • unattended hoses will be removed by the Harbour Master
  • dont put hoses in harbour water as this can lead to contamination of the water supply
  • dont use hoses for cleaning chemical toilets or other sanitary fittings
  • we may turn off the water supplies during periods of extreme cold weather to avoid damage to the water pipes

Water for vessels over 30 tonnes gross register

Contact the Harbour Office during normal office hours, giving 48 hours notice, to arrange for a waterman to supply water from a hydrant.

The fee depends on the size of your vessel so check with us.
