What a Personal Education Plan (PEP) is, what happens at PEP meetings, PEP forms.
Personal Education Plan (PEP)
A PEP is part of your care plan. It's a record of:
- how you and the adults involved in your education think you're doing in your education
- what's needed to help you learn
- your attendance
- how your Pupil Premium or 16-19 Bursary funding is being used
PEP meetings
At your PEP meeting a PEP form is filled in so that you and everyone involved in your education have as much information as possible on how things are going at school or college.
The PEP form has questions for you so that you can tell the adults what you think about things to do with your education. You can ask an adult to help you fill in your answers if you want to.
What you think is really important so we encourage you to go to your PEP meeting.
Other people who need to be at your PEP meeting are:
- your social worker
- your carer
- the designated teacher or another teacher from your school
Your education advocate from The HOPE might also be at the PEP meeting.
Meetings are held:
- within 20 working days of you first coming into care
- every academic term (spring, summer and autumn)
After the PEP meeting
You will get a copy of your PEP. Your social worker, carer and Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) also get a copy and so does your HOPE advocate.
Your IRO needs your latest PEP for your CiC review.
Everyone who was given an action at the PEP meeting needs to do what they were asked to do.
