A full time role, for which you'll need to look after a few different children for a minimum of 200 nights a year.
This role is different from the short break carer role. You'll need to offer a minimum of 200 nights of care a year in your own home.
You'll be caring for disabled children or young people with more complex and challenging physical, behavioural or health care needs. You could be caring for one, two, or three children at the same time.
It would be an advantage if you already have experience of caring for a disabled child, but it's not essential. We'll give you full training and ongoing support.
This is a full time role. We'll pay you a fee for periods when you have no placements.
Specialist foster carer fees
Short break contract fostering for disabled children is one of our specialist schemes.
If you decide to become a Short break contract carer for disabled children, you'll get paid a fee on top of the age-based allowance all our carers get.
