What cycle hangars are, when they'll be available and their locations.
Cycle hangars offer fixed on-street, secure cycle parking for up to six bikes which can only be accessed by lock and key or on an app in some locations.
They're about the size of one parking space and are for an area's local residents. It typically costs between £50 and £70 a year to rent a space.
We're working with the West of England Combined Authority to install 40 cycling hangars across Bristol as part of a wider project to install 80 across the region using Active Travel funding.
When they'll be installed
We hope to install the cycle hangars in the winter of 2024-2025.
How to get a space
A supplier will take on the day-to-day management of the hangars, including the sign up process. They will also be responsible for maintaining the hangars.
We'll give more details soon on how you can sign up for a space in one of the new cycle hangars.
Locations
There'll be 40 hangars installed. We do not have plans for more hangars until new funding becomes available.
