Help us to listen to the voices of Parents and Carers across the city
Join our Parent and Carer Panel
If you are expecting a baby or have a baby under the age of 2 we invite you to be part of our Family Hub Parent and Carer Panel.
The first 1,001 days of a child's life are a critical development period. We want your help to improve the services in Bristol that all parents and carers can access from pregnancy through to their child's second birthday.
Who we are looking for
We would love to hear from you if:
- you are expecting a baby
- or have a baby under the age of 2
We want to hear from a diverse group of parents and carers to ensure we listen to all voices in the community.
You do not need to have taken part in anything like this before. If you'd like to share your experiences of pregnancy, having a baby and accessing services then we would love to hear from you.
What we do
We ask for your feedback and thoughts about various subjects relating to pregnancy, having a baby and access to services.
For example you:
- might be asked to give feedback on the design of a webpage or a storyboard for a new animation
- could be asked for your opinions and thoughts on how we make services more accessible
- might be asked about your experience of meeting your midwife or health visitor for the first time
Where and when meetings are held
We hold meetings every 2 months and try to move around the city to make them as accessible as possible. We know that parents and carers are busy. We work with the panel to find a time that works for as many of the group as possible. Some months the meetings are held online.
In person meetings are always at a venue with space for play so you can bring children with you.
The panel
The panel includes other parents and carers like you, who will speak about their current or recent experiences of expecting a baby or of having a child under 2 years old.
There is a facilitator and someone taking notes at each meeting.
Length of time on the panel
We would like you to take part and contribute to the panel for long enough to benefit from the experience.
You can be part of the panel from birth to at least 6 months after your youngest child turns 2 years old.
You can leave the panel at any time.
