What Alternative Learning Provision (ALP) is, a list of ALP providers and how we work with ALPs to ensure children are kept safe and that they receive a quality offer.
We work closely with ALPs to ensure children are kept safe and that they receive a quality offer. We do this through:
ALP Framework
This is a list of approved providers of ALP that have passed a stringent application process to be part of the the ALP Framework.
Termly monitoring visits
Our team visit the full time and part time ALPs regularly to check on the progress of the children who attend there.
We discuss any concerns such as low attendance or safeguarding issues which may have arisen and make an action plan clearly setting out what needs to happen next.
Data tracking and monitoring
We hold tracking data for children who attend ALP so that we know which children are being worked with and by whom.
We use this data to check on individual children's progress, but also to identify trends and inform discussions about:
- what's going well
- how we can support our ALPs to develop in line with the needs of the city's children
- how we can support schools to make best use of the ALP available
