The different support offered to schools.
Sometimes children need extra support.
The type of support offered will depend on the:
- individual circumstances
- child's needs
- school's ordinarily available provision (OAP) offer
- school's partnership arrangements
Support we offer
IncludEd is part of the wider inclusion service.
We work closely with schools to support children to feel included and stay in their school, by:
- offering advice to schools about what might be helpful
- considering how external organisations and agencies could work with individuals
- providing some resources to further support the child, where appropriate
Proactive inclusion support
We're working with parents, carers and settings to ensure we have proactive inclusion support across the system and we're developing what this looks like for our children in Bristol.
There's lots of resource available and we are working to find the best way to make this part of an accessible and cohesive offer.
Targeted support
For children who do not have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), Inclusion Surgeries are multi professional surgeries that meet weekly. Schools refer in and can book slots to discuss concerns for children who're not thriving as they should.
