Information on what funding we get from the Department of Transport and how we spend it.
City Region Sustainability Transport Settlement
The Department for Transport has consolidated funding into a single source known as the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS).
This funding is allocated to the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (previously known as WECA).
The CRSTS provides necessary funding to local highway authorities within the west of England, such as Bristol City Council. This financial support enables them to:
- fulfil their legal responsibility to maintain local roads
- meet the requirements set out in Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980
