Our teams are small, with a low manager to practitioner ratio, enabling you to get the best support as you work.

All social workers are provided with regular, individually tailored supervision, as well as being supported by colleagues in their teams.

Bristol offers strong career pathways, with opportunities for development and progression. You can choose how you want to progress, whether it's staying in practice, or moving into managerial roles.

Our progression policy is linked to supporting staff and increasing their knowledge and skills, so we offer comprehensive development and training.

We also offer our social workers training and support to fully participate in the use of Signs of Safety methodology and systemic practice which forms the basis of our Practice Framework.

Social workers are based in different offices around the city depending on which team you work in, but all teams have access to dedicated workspaces.

We focus on maintaining smaller numbers of children allocated to each social worker to enable purposeful work with children and families that really makes a difference.
