Have your say on admission arrangements, proposed changes to school places and co-ordinated schemes.
What admission arrangements are
Admission arrangements explain how schools decide who gets a place. They include rules for when more children apply than there are spaces.
For community and voluntary controlled schools, the Local Authority sets these rules. For other schools, this is decided by the school or academy trust.
We're asking for your thoughts on the proposed admission arrangements for primary, infant, and junior schools for 2026-2027.
Proposed changes to school places
The Published Admission Number (PAN) is the maximum number of places available in each year group. We're suggesting these changes for Reception classes starting in 2026:
- Bishop Road Primary School, reduce from 120 to 90 places
- Air Balloon Primary School, reduce from 120 to 90 places
PANs for all other community and voluntary controlled schools will stay the same.
Co-ordinated admissions
The Local Authority manages how school applications and offers are handled. We're responsible for organizing:
- normal admission rounds
- late applications for primary, secondary, and some in-year places
We are asking for feedback on the proposed co-ordinated schemes for 2026-2027.
