Evidence you may need to send us for proof of address when you make an in year school place application.
When you should make an application for a school place
You need to apply 6 weeks before your change of address if you are moving to Bristol and need a school place.
Evidence needed as proof of change of address
We’ll need documentary evidence of your new address. If you move after you have made an application but before the places are allocated, this may affect the offer of a place.
Examples of evidence to support a change of address we need are a copy of a:
-
solicitor’s letter confirming exchange of contracts and a completion date. You may also be asked to provide proof of sale of your current property, or
proof that your current tenancy agreement is shortly ending -
tenancy agreement if the property is council or housing association property
-
tenancy agreement If the property is a private rented property
We reserve the right to request further documentation to confirm your change of address.
If you knowingly or wilfully provide a false statement such as a false address, which would affect the success of your application, you can be prosecuted under s5(b) of the Perjury Act 1911.
Extra evidence needed If you are moving to Bristol from overseas due to a UK military or crown service posting
If you are moving to Bristol from overseas due to a UK military or crown service posting you also need to include with your application confirmation of posting into the area by providing an official letter that declares a relocation date and a Unit postal address or quartering area address.
