Information on upcoming bus stop improvements.

South Liberty Lane upgrades

Bus stops along South Liberty Lane in Ashton will benefit from several upgrades to improve passenger experience and make travelling by bus safer and easier for all passengers.

Six bus stops along South Liberty Lane will be upgraded to include new:

  • raised kerbs, this will make boarding and alighting easier and safer for all bus passengers
  • yellow bus stop road markings, this will enable buses to pull up parallel to the new raised kerbs and make the bus stop location clear to other road users
  • paving of the passenger waiting areas, this will distinguish the bus stop waiting area from the pavement to help make the bus stop more visible
  • two bus stops will receive new posts and flag signs, the other stops will retain their existing ones

Additionally, 9 new pedestrian crossings, with dropped kerbs and tactile paving will be added:

  • at the junction of Alma Place and South Liberty Lane
  • west of the southbound Alma Place bus stop
  • at the junction of South Liberty Lane and Winterstoke Road
  • east of the northbound Industrial Park bus stop
  • west of the southbound Industrial Park bus stop
  • at the junction of Risdale Road and South Liberty Lane
  • west of the southbound Buttercup Walk bus stop
  • at the junction of South Liberty Lane with the southside industrial estate
  • east of the northbound Nelson Street bus stop
