What you can and can't put in your blue recycling bag.

You can put in:

  • cardboard
  • brown paper
  • clean food and drink cartons (including Tetra Pak)

You can't put in:

  • cardboard that's heavily contaminated with food, for example pizza boxes
  • any other recycling

You can't put out any extra cardboard that won't fit in the blue recycling bag, it will not be collected

You must:

  • use the blue bag for cardboard, you can't put cardboard in your green box
  • remove any tape
  • fold or cut your cardboard down so that it fits in the blue bag

One bag per property.

If you have a lot of cardboard, put it out over several weeks or take it to a reuse and recycling centre.

Write your house number on the side of your blue bag so we can tell which property the blue bag has come from. It may also prevent people from taking a bag that is not theirs.

If you haven't got a blue bag yet

Put cardboard recycling in an untied carrier bag. Don't use black bags or bin liners.
