Southmead regeneration project

We worked with the local community to enable us to build housing which best reflect the wants and needs of the neighbourhood. Subject to the outcome of submitted planning applications, the Southmead regeneration scheme is expected to provide:

  • 187 new homes at Glencoyne Square, of which around 66% will be affordable, with a decision on planning application imminent
  • work  on site at Glencoyne is expected to start in 2024, subject to full planning approval, and will include:
    • a new library
    • an advice and learning hub, community enterprise space, and a health and well-being hub, supported by £7.62m investment by the council to support the non-residential part of Glencoyne Square development. See item 12 on the Cabinet meeting agenda Tuesday 6 June 2023.
  • Development work for Arnside Road public realm was completed in 2022
  • a new council housing development on the White Hall site, recently purchased by the council following the recent demolition works
