Running is a great free activity for everyone. It's a fantastic way to spend time with friends and family, meet new people, explore new places and get out and visit some of our many parks and green spaces.

Measured routes

There are measured routes that can be walked, jogged or run in Bristol, including:

  • Eastville Park
  • Ashton Court
  • Horfield Common
  • Netham Park
  • Victoria Park

Parkrun and junior parkrun

These are free weekly timed runs organised by volunteers in our parks. They are open to everyone and are safe and easy to take part in. You need to register on the parkrun website before taking part for the first time.

Parkrun

These free 5km timed runs start every Saturday at 9am at Ashton Court and Eastville Park.

Junior parkrun

These free 2k runs for children aged between 4 and 14 years take place on Sunday mornings.

Orienteering

Orienteering is a great way to get fit and improve your mental well-being.

Running isn’t essential for orienteering but the essence of the sport is to locate 'controls' as quickly as you can, so it does play a part. 

Bristol Orienteering Klub welcomes people of all ages and abilities, runners or not.
